UPDATE: 21st April 2020

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Following the statement from the Government on 16th April 2020 regarding a further 3 week period of ‘lockdown’ as a minimum, all churches remain closed.

This means that no services will take place in our churches at the present time.

We continue to broadcast a service each Sunday at 9.00am and you can follow it by visiting our Facebook page here

The Church of England has several different apps you can use to help you pray, if you use a smart phone or tablet. The ‘Time to Pray’ app has been made completely free of charge. This app contains a form of prayer to use during the day, as well as Compline to use before going to sleep. You may find this useful during this time when we are not able to worship together in our churches. If you have access to e mail, we can send you a copy of Morning and Evening prayer for you to use at home. Contact details are below.

If you have questions regarding Baptism, Weddings or Funerals, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you need support or pastoral care, again, please contact me and I or one of the ministry team will be happy to help where we can.

In his letter to the Romans (8: 39), St Paul writes “Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” At a time in which what is called ‘social distancing’ is being required from the people of the world, what is actually required is ‘physical distancing’ – and that we can all be close to each other, and to God, in prayer, in love, and in many other ways – as God is close to us.

Please be assured of my prayers for you at this time.

UPDATE: 16th March 2020

Currently all services will continue as published.

However, following Government social distancing advice announced today all social events, coffee mornings, Community Choir rehearsals, fundraising events, Lent Course, and the serving of refreshments after services will be cancelled until further notice.

Use our Self-Isolation Help Cards which can be printed off and posted through doors available here

There will be copies in churches this Sunday if you know of anyone who may be in need.

Following instruction to all the clergy from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, Holy Communion will be given in one kind (the consecrated Bread only) at all Eucharists in this benefice with immediate effect and the Sign of Peace will not be shared in the congregation.

All Eucharists and other acts of worship will be offered as normal, and it continues to be our privilege to offer pastoral and sacramental ministry to those in need.

We pray at the Eucharist and daily for those tackling the spread of the coronavirus, for all who are anxious or afraid, for all quarantined or infected, for continuing compassion and care, and for the prevalence of common sense and goodwill.

We encourage all to use the sanitising hand-gel, which is available at all churches in the group.
