News & EVENTS
UPDATE: 9th April 2021

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

With the easing of some restrictions going ahead on this coming Monday (12th April) I can confirm that we will resume public worship from Sunday 18th April. I sincerely hope that we will not have to close our doors again.

The next scheduled easing of restrictions, after Monday, is not before May 17th. In line with the governments 'cautious approach' we will not resume our usual pattern of Sunday services before 17th May. Services until then are as follows:

Sunday 18th April      9.30am  Holy Communion at Billinghay
11.00am  Holy Communion at South Kyme

Sunday 25th April      9.30am  Holy Communion at Walcott
11.00am  Holy Communion at North Kyme

Sunday 2nd May         9.30am  Holy Communion at Billinghay
                               11.00am  Morning Prayer at Martin
11.00am  Holy Communion at South Kyme

Sunday 9th May          9.30am  Holy Communion at Timberland
11.00am  Holy Communion at North Kyme

Sunday 16th May        9.30am  Holy Communion at Billinghay
                               11.00am  Holy Communion at Martin

Social distancing must still be observed and face coverings must still be worn unless exempt. There can be no congregational singing (under review for May 17th) and so the choir will sing where they are available. Communion will still be administered in one kind (wafer) only for the time being.

I am delighted that we are able to resume public worship again, albeit not exactly back to normal and I will keep you updated as further information becomes available. I wanted to ensure that every church in the benefice is able to open at some point over the next five weeks in order to give everyone in our communities the opportunity to return to church until the next easing of restrictions may be announced.

The Parish News will begin again and be available from Sunday 2nd May.

Many thanks for your continued patience and understanding,

We continue to broadcast a service each Sunday at 9.00am and you can follow it by visiting our Facebook page here

The Church of England has several different apps you can use to help you pray, if you use a smart phone or tablet. The ‘Time to Pray’ app has been made completely free of charge. This app contains a form of prayer to use during the day, as well as Compline to use before going to sleep. You may find this useful during this time when we are not able to worship together in our churches. If you have access to e mail, we can send you a copy of Morning and Evening prayer for you to use at home. Contact details are below.

If you have questions regarding Baptism, Weddings or Funerals, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you need support or pastoral care, again, please contact me and I or one of the ministry team will be happy to help where we can.

In his letter to the Romans (8: 39), St Paul writes “Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” At a time in which what is called ‘social distancing’ is being required from the people of the world, what is actually required is ‘physical distancing’ – and that we can all be close to each other, and to God, in prayer, in love, and in many other ways – as God is close to us.

Please be assured of my prayers for you at this time.

TAKEAWAY CHURCH - Available NOW! Come on, let's Celebrate
Celebrate Ordinary time and Father’s Day with craft bags to pick up outside Timberland and Walcott Churches from 4th June.

Children’s bags include materials to make the activities for you and any teenagers/adults in the house. Also included are mindfulness colouring pages and word searches. We would love to see your creations. Please share them with us!

We hope that once we can gather at church and in groups again, this will lead to the children coming together to partake in a service/group activity that still allows them to “takeaway” something from the Church.

Dear friends, as you stay at home and are possibly isolated from loved ones, family and friends, I understand it is worrying and at times can feel a lonely place to be in. These are unprecedented times and we are having to behave in ways which are alien to us. I therefore offer you the following along with my personal prayers and thoughts for you all,
Reverend Steve.

Our God is faithful and true, and times of anxiety offer us the opportunity to learn this afresh and be through Him signs of hope to those who are anxious and lonely.
May Christ in his Passion and Resurrection lead us all to a better hope.

God be with you in all circumstances. Let us continue to pray for one another and for our suffering world.

Billinghay Church of England Primary School
Click on the school logo above to visit the school's web site.
Our school is a single form entry primary school in the rural village of Billinghay. We take children from the ages of 4 years (Foundation 2 / Reception) until the age of 11 years (Year 6). If you are considering our school for your child you're warmly invited to come and look around school.

Our website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

Kind regards

Mrs Mary King Primary School -  Martin
Click on the school logo above to visit the school's web site.
Mrs Mary King’s is a small village school with strong community spirit. We aim to provide an excellent education to all who come to us. What we lack in size we make up for in attention to the individual.

Mrs. Mary King's School was founded in 1753 when the lady of that name gave land and set up a charitable trust to provide a school to teach the children of the parish "reading, writing and the common prayer." Our children still learn reading and writing every day, prayer remains important part of collective worship.

Nowadays, the school serves children from a wider area including the villages of Timberland, Martin Dales and Thorpe Tilney. We also have a number of children who come from villages outside our catchment area such as Billinghay, Woodhall Spa and Walcott.

Those who live in our catchment but more than two miles away are entitled to free transport to and from school. Although we are a faith school, we are open to all, and children of all faiths or none are equally welcome.
