reverend steve holt
Steve was born in Lincoln and he and his family have spent much of their lives in and around the city. Prior to ordination, Steve worked for a private training company in Lincoln, working with ex-offenders and the long-term unemployed, and before this he was a training officer and a personnel manager for Morrisons.

Upon completing his studies and obtaining a degree in Theology from the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, Steve was ordained deacon in July 2011 and ordained priest in the following year. He served his curacy in the Great Grimsby Team, and then in 2014 became Associate Rector in the Parish of Boston. In reflecting on a very rewarding four years in Boston, Steve has said that he has forged some great friendships in the area and that he has been privileged to work alongside a wonderful, gifted team, serving God’s people and offering ministry to so many people in many different ways.

Steve has a wide range of interests, including a love of all kinds of music. He also likes to travel, and he has had the opportunity to visit many different places, including a tour of China and a five-week spell in the townships of South Africa, working alongside the local church there. He has described this time as a humbling experience.

Steve has said that he is excited to be taking up the office of Vicar of the Carr Dyke Group. In looking ahead to this new role he has said: “I feel blessed that God has called me to this next stage in my ministry and I very much look forward to getting to know the benefice and people. Rural ministry will, I know, be very different to that of Grimsby and Boston and I am ready for this new challenge. This is, I believe, an exciting time in the life of the Church, the wider community in Carr Dyke and the Diocese of Lincoln as a whole.”
